Themed Walks
If you are interested in any of the following walks, please send me an email with your walk requirements and I will reply with an itinerary and a guideline to costs.
Every walk is a bespoke adventure designed just for you!

Birdwatching
When is it? Weekdays or weekends.
Where is it? Based near Haslemere, Surrey but available throughout Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
For any walk that I lead I guess you could say “general wildlife” as opposed to just birds – but bird lovers in particular will love these guided expeditions as birdwatching is something I’m particularly proficient at. Not only will you get to see as many resident birds as possible, you will learn their particular identification features and become better at distinguishing between the various calls and songs they make.

Dawn Watches
When is it? Weekdays or weekends with an early start!
Where is it? Based near Haslemere, Surrey but available throughout Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
During late April and Early May we enter the best months for birdsong. Join me on a specialist dawn watch and learn about the beauty and significance of this time of day; it begins with an early start of about 4am but expect an experience that everyone should undertake at least once in their lifetime!

Deer Watching
When is it? September, October, May, June
Where is it? Petworth, West Sussex.
Make a date for deer watching! These watches are based in a local park constituting 700 acres of wilderness and several herds of Fallow deer. The deer are semi wild so rather than just watch them running away we can settle in to watch them from a distance. Perhaps the most rewarding times of year are during late September and October when the rut is on, and then again in late May or June when the subsequent fawns are born. This is an amazing experience for spectators and a very good opportunity for photographers to practice their craft!

The Dark Hours
When is it? Weekdays or weekends.
Where is it? Based near Haslemere, Surrey but available throughout Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
If you are a night owl, we can accommodate a wonderful experience of walking at night. A 2 to 4 hour walk will reveal a countryside that never sleeps! Fox, badger, deer, owls, nightjar, nightingale and woodcock may be heard or even seen! If not then the walk is still a fascinating experience; it is rarely truly “dark” and the moon and stars provide wonderful scenery!

Have A Themed Walk In Your Locality
Sometimes the mystery of the countryside is closer to home than usual! If you have found yourself wondering around local woods or through fields behind your house and never truly felt like you have discovered the beauty of the countryside, then I will happily travel to a location of your choice and offer insights and thoughts about the surrounding countryside whilst you guide me along a favourite walk of yours. Identify that mystery plant, that bird song you hear in the woods or sometimes the most obvious scenery needs pointing out to provide another perspective on what you thought was just the norm!
