Who’s it for? Anyone!
When I first started practicing bushcraft it could better be described as “low tech camping”: taking advantage of nature’s provision using as few implements as possible.
Things have changed hugely now – specialist organisations go to incredible lengths to practice and teach these skills often, ironically, using high tech, expensive gear!
I qualified as a Bushcraft instructor at Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development in 2009 and now offer a very different service, perhaps closer linked to the Bushcraft definition: “Skill in anything pertaining to wild country, as in finding one’s way, hunting or finding water”. Of course, I make things as interesting and fun as possible, but I like to aim at the total beginner who wants to enjoy the experience rather than endure it!!
Ideally suited to novices, families (especially those with teenage children) or those that require a wee bit more comfort, this can be a relatively bespoke service so that you can choose your own comfort level. Whatever you choose, you will benefit from the simplicity and fresh air of wilderness therapy!
